the final event

well, it all comes down to the final event in this the first ever Mountain of Gold Poker Championship. Some things to watch for...

In the overall race, Nate Custer leads Lucas McNelly by 1 point. If Lucas can finish one spot higher than Nate in Limit Hold 'Em, they will go to a tie-breaker, which remains unscheduled. If he can finish 2 spots higher, he wins the whole thing. Steve Vesolich has an outside chance of catching Everett Lowe for 3rd place, provided he can pick up 6 points. Everett plans to sit out the final event, so if the field is at least 6 players, Steve has a chance.

Should Everett choose to play, he would need to make up 6 points on Lucas to take 2nd place, but theoretically only a point or two to ensure 3rd.

Steve will also try to join Lucas and Nate as multiple-event winners, while they will try to become the first to 3 bracelets.

In 7 Card Stud, Lucas became the first to win consecutive events. He goes for 3 straight in Limit Hold 'Em and looks to extend his streak of top 2 finishes to 6. Nate will try to become the only person to finish in the top 3 in all 7 events.

Nate and Lucas are tied for the most cash finishes with 4.

The overall prize pool is already at $107.
